Kit exchange scheme

Kit exchange scheme

Martyn CLEMENTS23 Nov 2022 - 16:37

Swifts are introducing a “kit exchange scheme” to benefit players and parents – making use of outgrown kit, saving money and helping the environment.

Kit exchange scheme

With our children growing up fast we often find the boots and other kit we buy for them need replacing all too frequently. As a result, these expensive items we have purchased are often simply discarded whilst they still have plenty of life in them.

Swifts are introducing a “kit exchange scheme” that we hope will benefit both our players and parents equally – making use of outgrown items, saving money and helping the environment too.

This aims of this scheme are:

 Saving money on buying brand new kit
 Benefit the wider club with no children having to miss out due to lack of kit
 Helping the environment by extending the usable life of these items and not throwing them away prematurely

Kit donation
To get the scheme off the ground we first need to build up some stock. Donations of kit (football boots, trainers, replica shirts, shorts, shin-pads) that are in good condition but have been outgrown can be handed to your child's coach(es). The coaches will add these to the “kit exchange” baskets at Greystones and securely stored. Please ensure all items are clean and ready for the next person to use.

We invite initial donations over the next two weeks, but donations can of course continue after we open the scheme.

Opening kit exchange – Saturday 3 December
Once stock is available, we will open the “kit exchange scheme” to all players and parents connected to the club on Saturday 3 December. All coaches have access to Greystones, to gain access to the kit exchange items (to donate or collect) we advise you to coordinate this with your child’s coach. There are labelled baskets in Greystones for donations.

• Kit exchange items – football boots, football trainers, replica shirts, shorts and shin-pads. Any adult sized items are also welcome, to benefit the older age group players too.

The club hopes everyone will embrace this idea and donate/swap where and however you can.

Thank you.
