All that is left to do at Greystones is for the main gate at the front of the Greystones site to be fitted, and locks/keys distributed to all coaches within the club, and the work will be complete.
This development is a vitally important one for Swifts - the main pitch is now, after many years, fully secure, and will hopefully eradicate the vandalism it has suffered over the course of that time. This will now give Swifts a platform to build on - we are now, with the limited threat of damage to their property - much more feasible for Sponsorship and grants to improve the facilities; with the next main focus, no doubt going to be aimed at the clubhouse, playing surface, and signage.
The new fence, coupled with the Duralock pitch barrier, which was fitted before the first game of the season in September, has transformed greystones not only into a vastly better-looking place for youth players to play, but also a much safer space for all of our young footballers to play their football and express themselves on the pitch.
Chipping Norton Rugby Club are currently also having a new fence of their own fitted on the pitches adjacent to our 11v11 pitch, so the areas for all of our teams are in the process of being made much safer for all.
Chipping Norton Swifts would like to extend huge thanks to Chipping Norton Town Council, The Premier League & the FA Facilities Fund, and a Grant aided by West Oxfordshire District Council. Without the financial support from these three funding partners, this fence would not have been possible.
