Shaun Green (2018)
Hall of Fame 3 of 4

3. Shaun Green (2018)

Shaun Green was awarded "Hall of Fame" status at the end of the 2017/18 Season, after stepping down from his role as Club Chairman after several years of service to the club, and helping to rebuild it from the ground up.

Shaun played as a Swift as a boy, and also coached a Swifts team in the early 2000's before its much-needed "rebirth" in 2012.

At that point in time, the club had got to a point where there was only one youth age group remaining, and it was decided that something needed to be done to bring the club back into a much healthier position.

Once that time came around, Shaun was pivotal, along with Martin Driscoll (who was awarded Hall of Fame status the year before Shaun in 2017), in setting the foundations to rebuild the club. They started up small sessions each week, akin to our current Soccer School, which, after a year's work, made up a new team, which eventually split into two separate U8 and U9 teams, who have continued as Swifts to this day.

In his final few years at the club, Shaun acted as club chairman, and was a vital part of the "behind the scenes" running of the club.
