Sarah Pretorius (2019)
Hall of Fame 2 of 4

2. Sarah Pretorius (2019)

Sarah Pretorius was awarded "Hall of Fame" status for her 9 years of superb service to the club in 2019.

Sarah's involvement with Swifts began in 2009, when her eldest son joined the club as part of a whole team that moved across from Enstone Sports - managed by another Hall of Fame inductee in Martin Driscoll. During this time, Sarah was involved mainly as a parent and a supporter, but her role became much more important as time went on.

Another of her boys joined the club as part of it's "rebirth" in 2012, as the club began to start regaining teams from the younger age groups. Sarah was always available to lend a helping hand on a match-day - and often ran a small tea and coffee shop inside the Greystones Clubhouse every home game for parents and supporters of both sides - which over time helped contribute to the team gaining some extra equipment. Despite having two boys playing for the Club Sarah was still available to help with lifts for other players to matches, and helped to iron-out many of the teething problems that teams have as a season goes on.

As if Sarah's contributions to the club weren't enough - Sarah joined the Swifts Committee by becoming Secretary in the summer of 2017. Since then, her contribution to the Club has gone from being large, to enormous - Helping with Awards Day, filling out club affiliations, signing-on players, and contributing to all other club decisions.

Chairman Martyn Clements adds: "The club secretary role requires a lot of background work that will go unnoticed by those outside the club. However, those within the club know and appreciate the work Sarah has put in to ensure our teams and players are registered on time and has played a key role in the club obtaining and retaining its Charter status."

Everyone at Swifts gives their immense thanks, and the Hall of Fame award is the very least Sarah deserves for her unstinting commitment to our Club.
